valera uv-c

VALERA UV-C is an autonomous field robot designed for the targeted UV-C treatment of outdoor crops. Using GPS-RTK and 3D mapping, it navigates autonomously along the rows of plants, enabling systematic coverage of the entire cultivation area. It can treat up to three rows of plants simultaneously.

Thanks to its electric two-wheel drive, adjustable track width, and foldable UV-C panels, VALERA can be flexibly adapted to different row spacings and planting conditions. An integrated solar panel supports the power supply.

The treatment can also be applied at night and help reduce fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and gray mold. The process does not require any chemical agents.

What is UV-C?

UV-C is ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range of 100 to 280 nanometers (nm) that is used to inactivate certain microorganisms. It damages their genetic material, thereby inhibiting their reproduction.

In automated crop protection, targeted UV-C treatment enables the chemical-free reduction of certain pathogens and can reduce the use of chemical pesticides.
